Simpsons Theme Park: I Want To Go To There

My dreams have come true — I will soon be able to drink overpriced beer at Moe’s Tavern and buy Hellboy comics at The Android’s Dungeon in Springfield. Universal Studios is building a Simpsons theme park in Orlando, Florida, that will include working versions of:
* Krusty Burger
* Lard Lad Donuts
* Moe’s Tavern (!)
* The Frying Dutchman, and
* Luigi’s Pizza
Most of all, I am looking forward to the new “intergalactic spinning” ride called Kang & Kodos’ Twirl N’ Hurl, which will (hopefully) send me ***twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom.

Kodos: They do realize that boarding the Twirl N’ Hurl will send them into an alternate slave dimension, right?
Kang: Hush, sister. Just keep smiling harmlessly. The humans will be giving us tentacle rubs in no time! Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

Love it! And, sadly, I do get all the Kang and Kodos references. I too hope to one day visit the Simpsons theme park and “eat, and grow large with food.”

You know, 2 weekends ago, Max and I spent half the afternoon with Matt Groening while we were in Venice at the Venice Art Walk. He came to support Mark and Esther and we all hung out together after. It’s about the 5th time I’ve met him, but the first time we all just hung out without a room full of people in tow. You would have loved it. Great day.
And I will be first in line at Moe’s Tavern when this park opens.

Oh, yeah — I will definitely camp out overnight to be the first in line to ride the Twirl N Hurl.
